Site Civil Assistant Engineer

Responsibilities

• Performing calculations, developing design plans and details for green infrastructure and stormwater management practices
• Developing site grading, site and roadway layout, parking lot payout, lighting design and utility design associated with commercial, industrial, residential developments, and electrical substations
• Assisting with transportation aspects of projects including access, internal circulation such as AutoTURN, and parking lot maneuverability
• Performing tributary drainage area analysis and sizing of stormwater management systems
• Preparing permit packages for City and/or State Agencies
• Preparing and reviewing technical reports (drainage reports, due diligence reports, technical memos and SWPPP’s)
• Preparing cost estimates for conceptual level design and final design
• Field work for data gathering, surveys, and construction observations

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental or water resources engineering
• Minimum of 0-3 years related experience
• Strong understanding of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Experience with modeling software, such as AutoTURN, DiaLux Evo
• Detail-oriented, excellent writing skills
• Knowledge of NYC DEP Stormwater Rules and Permits is desired but not required

Pay

The pay range for this position in New York City is $75,000.00 - $78,000.00 per year.

Schedule

NV5’s New York City office operates on a four-day work week.
