Civil Engineer

Van Cleef Engineering Associates, LLC (Van Cleef) is a dynamic, multi‑disciplined consulting civil engineering firm of engineers, certified inspectors, landscape architects, planners, and land surveyors. With offices in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, the firm provides expertise in civil engineering, municipal engineering, municipal planning, and land surveying. Van Cleef is currently seeking a full‑time civil engineering design professional to join its team in Doylestown, PA.

Responsibilities

• Design a wide variety of subdivision and land development projects across residential, retail, commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors in the southeastern Pennsylvania region.
• Review zoning, subdivision, land development, stormwater, and other regulatory agency ordinances/regulations for applicability to projects.
• Provide senior project designers with design assistance as required.
• Prepare or assist with preparation of sketch plans, site plans, grading, utilities, and road & utility profile plans.
• Apply fundamental knowledge of stormwater management and erosion & sedimentation (E&S) design.
• Prepare subdivision and land development plan design packages, reports, and submissions; work independently on smaller projects or support a senior designer on larger ones.
• Utilize AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Hydroflow stormwater design software, as well as Microsoft Office products.
• Meet regularly with project managers and team members to coordinate goals, schedules, timelines, and updates for active projects.
• Communicate status and progress of activities and timelines for assigned tasks.
• Demonstrate strong time‑management skills.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or related field (preferred).
• 2–3 years of progressive experience in the design of private subdivision and land development projects.
• EIT certification (preferred).
• Completion of continuing‑education classes or coursework relevant to the industry or position.
