AHI provides accessible, high-quality healthcare training, aimed to empower individuals, strengthen communities and contribute to a more diverse and inclusive healthcare workforce.

Please note: tuition assistance will cover tuition only, and participants may be responsible for additional fees.

Upon successful completion and certification, you’ll be eligible to apply for Surgical Instrument Processing Technician positions at Hawai‘i Pacific Health. This tuition assistance is intended for individuals who are committed to joining Hawai‘i Pacific Health after graduation.

Responsibilities

The Surgical Instrument Processing Technician plays a critical role in ensuring patient safety and surgical efficiency by:

  • Decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, sterilizing, and distributing surgical instruments and medical equipment
  • Supporting operating rooms, outpatient clinics, and procedural areas by maintaining high standards of infection control and equipment readiness

Training Program Details

We are currently looking for individuals who share our passion for this mission and have an interest in becoming a Surgical Instrument Processing Technician. Program details include:

  • Program Start Date: October 26, 2026
  • Program End Date: June 26, 2027
  • Class Location: Pearlridge Office Center
  • Minimum Education Requirement: High school diploma and/or equivalent
