Single Cell Multiomics Sales Specialist - US South Central
About the role
BD is seeking a Sr. Single Cell Multiomics Sales Specialist to join its Biosciences Team, offering customers a complete BD solution through successful positioning of the BD Rhapsody Single Cell Multiomics portfolio. This field-based position covers the US South Central territory, with preferred residence in Texas or the St. Louis area.
The role requires significant direct interaction with existing and potential customers, including 40% travel. The ideal candidate is a self-starter passionate about advancing single cell research and eager to bring next-generation single cell research tools to market.
Responsibilities
- Meet with customers to position BD Rhapsody instrument and consumable products, as well as BD’s total solutions within the territory.
- Ensure growth targets are met or exceeded through sales activities aligned with business strategies, including direct negotiation, bid/tender responses, exhibitions, on-site meetings, demonstrations, and technical/application support.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding and execution of a proper sales process.
- Develop and maintain a robust short- and long-term sales pipeline to generate profitable revenue that meets or exceeds targets.
- Provide regular market feedback to business teams, including opportunities, threats, and market intelligence.
- Maintain accurate customer contact details, marketing attributes, and opportunity management in Salesforce CRM.
- Deliver routine reporting on territory performance and accurate sales forecasts.
- Focus on collaborative selling by engaging all BD Biosciences teams, including Instrument and Reagent Specialists, Custom Technology Team, Field Applications Specialists, Service Team, and Distribution Representatives.
- Develop and maintain one-on-one relationships with key distributor sales reps within the assigned territory.
- Actively build new business, convert competitive business, and retain/develop large key accounts to grow revenue while balancing expected margins.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant life science discipline; MS or PhD in life science is an advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience selling or supporting solutions for genomic applications such as single cell, gene expression, mutation analysis, or other forms of genomic variation.
- Experience with techniques such as next generation sequencing (NGS), sample prep/library prep for genomic analysis, PCR, qPCR, and digital PCR.
- Experience selling technologies for single cell sequencing, transcriptomics, or proteogenomics is highly desired.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Willingness to travel a minimum of 40% (domestic).
- Must possess and maintain a valid state-issued driver’s license with 3 years of consecutive driving history and meet BD’s auto safety standards.
Skills
- In-depth knowledge of current multiomics and genomic applications, including single cell, gene expression, NGS, sample prep/library prep, PCR, qPCR, and digital PCR.

- Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams (Field Applications Support, Customer Service, Technical Support) to achieve solution sales.
- Excellent interpersonal, listening, verbal, and written communication skills.

- Experience influencing and connecting with multiple decision-makers and collaborators with varying degrees of influence and personality types.
- Ability to handle ambiguity and act with limited information.
Pay
The expected base pay range for this role is $120,300.00 – $192,400.00 USD annually, plus incentives. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and geographic location.
