About the role
Support the design, development, and/or utilization of high-fidelity digital simulation software in advanced technical computing environments. Contribute to trade studies to assess system performance of weapons against a variety of threats in a variety of kill chain scenarios. Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to develop and implement analytic approaches that produce data to guide program decisions. Participate in the development, implementation, validation, and testing of model-based solutions to power real-time combat decision aids and associated software.
Responsibilities
- Apply performance engineering practices and procedures to evaluate work across a wide range of computational problems, answering questions such as: what should be the next system improvement; what is the effectiveness of the missile against single or multiple threats; or what countermeasures should be considered to increase effectiveness and/or survivability and other operational performance-related questions.
- Develop and implement analytic approaches that produce data to guide program decisions.
- Participate in the development, implementation, validation, and testing of model-based solutions for real-time combat decision aids and associated software.
Requirements
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
- Experience with scripting (MATLAB, Python, etc.) and/or programming (C, C++, etc.).
- Active and transferable U.S. government-issued security clearance is required prior to start date; U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Ability to obtain interim U.S. government-issued Top Secret security clearance prior to start date.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Specific majors: Physics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Operations Research, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Computer/Electrical Engineering.
- Coursework, internship, projects, or work experience in:
- Simulation modeling, development, and/or analysis of physical systems.
- Knowledge of the systems engineering life-cycle model.
- Software development processes and object-oriented design using C/C++ and/or Java in Unix or Linux computing environments.
- Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning (AI/ML) or Surrogate Modeling.
- Computation on high-performance computing (HPC) grids/clusters, SLURM.
- Military experience or substantive domain knowledge of tools and tactics of warfare.
- Prior experience with classified material.
- Active and transferable U.S. government-issued SECRET or TOP SECRET security clearance.

Pay
The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD – 131,100 USD. The range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
