About the Role
At RTX, the world’s largest aerospace and defense company, you’ll join a team that assesses, develops, and evaluates solution architectures for complex challenges across operational domains. In the Operations and Mission Analysis Department, you’ll analyze threats and define new capabilities, leading innovation in operational modeling and simulation. As part of the Airborne Kill Chain AI/ML Section, you’ll work with high-fidelity missile simulations to build decision support systems for the warfighter.
Responsibilities
- Support or lead the design, development, and utilization of high-fidelity digital simulation software in advanced technical computing environments.
- Conduct trade studies to assess system performance of weapons against a variety of threats in kill chain scenarios.
- Apply performance engineering practices to evaluate computational problems, such as system improvements, missile effectiveness, countermeasures, and operational performance.
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to develop analytic approaches that guide program decisions.
- Support or lead the development, implementation, validation, and testing of model-based solutions for real-time combat decision aids and associated software.
Requirements
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience (unless prohibited by local laws/regulations).
- Experience with MATLAB or Python.
- Experience in at least two of the following:
- Systems engineering life cycle
- Software development and/or object-oriented design using C/C++ and/or Java
- Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and/or Surrogate Modeling
- Computation on high-performance computing (HPC)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued Top Secret security clearance prior to start date.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Physics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Operations Research, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or Computer/Electrical Engineering.
- Coursework, internship, projects, or work experience in:
- Simulation modeling, development, and/or analysis of physical systems
- Systems engineering life-cycle models
- Software development processes and object-oriented design using C/C++ and/or Java in Unix or Linux environments
- Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) or Surrogate Modeling
- Computation on high-performance computing (HPC) grids/clusters (e.g., SLURM)
- 4+ years of relevant professional work experience leading a project team.
- Prior experience in military operations or substantive domain knowledge of warfare tools and tactics.
- Prior experience with classified material.
- Active and transferable U.S. government-issued SECRET or TOP SECRET security clearance.
Pay
The salary range for this role is $107,500 – $204,500 USD. The range is a good-faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers factors such as role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills when extending an offer.
