Senior Simulation Analysis Engineer Onsite

About the role
At RTX, the world’s largest aerospace and defense company, you’ll join a high-performing team of engineers working with high-fidelity missile simulations to construct decision support systems used by the warfighter. In the Airborne Kill Chain AI/ML Section of the Operations and Mission Analysis Department, you will analyze complex threats and help define new capabilities through operational modeling and simulation using purpose-built software.
Responsibilities
- Support the design, development, and/or utilization of high-fidelity digital simulation software in advanced technical computing environments.
- Contribute to trade studies assessing system performance of weapons against a variety of threats in kill-chain scenarios.
- Apply performance-engineering practices to evaluate computational problems and answer questions such as next system improvements, missile effectiveness against single or multiple threats, and countermeasures to increase effectivity or survivability.
- Collaborate in a team environment, receiving input from programs, external customers, and subject-matter experts to determine, develop, and implement analytic approaches that generate data to inform programmatic decisions.
- Participate in the development and implementation of model-based solutions for decision support systems, including validation and testing of models, software components, and integrated systems.
- Occasional travel (<10%) to support customers or programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of five years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience with MATLAB or Python.
- Experience in at least two of the following:
- Systems engineering life cycle
- Software development and/or object-oriented design using C/C++ and/or Java
- Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and/or Surrogate Modeling
- Computation on high-performance computing (HPC)
Qualifications We Prefer
- Advanced degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Operations Research, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, Physics, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Active Top Secret DoD clearance.
- Experience in data analysis and statistics with large volumes of data.
- Experience with AFSIM or other simulation modeling development and/or analysis.
- Experience conducting analyses and studies, including defining and executing study plans.
- Strong written and verbal communication with peers, management, IT support, and customers.

Pay
The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD – 165,200 USD. The range is a good-faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
