Schedule
- Paid, minimum 10-week internship offering $1,000/month plus housing
- Housing is fully furnished, but interns are responsible for linens (sheets, towels, pillows, etc.) and food
- Interns will likely share housing with other interns at most locations
Internships
Internships with Silver Spur Ranches are highly competitive. Preference will be given to applicants pursuing careers or advanced degrees in agriculture-related fields. Applications for the 2026 Internships will open on December 1st, 2025. Intern application 2026 The application deadline for all internships for 2026 internships will be December 15, 2025. To be considered for future opportunities, please submit your resume and completed online application by the deadline. Incomplete applications or those submitted after the deadline will not be reviewed. Please note, spots for 2025 internships are extremely limited.

Bailey Watson took a leap of faith by traveling across the country to work at Silver Spur Ranches in Colorado during the summer of 2022, despite initial uncertainty and being unfamiliar with the operation. Though she initially hoped for a position in Wyoming, Bailey found the experience in Colorado to be incredibly rewarding and exactly where she was meant to be.
Amy Hull interned at the Silver Spur Ranch horse barn in Encampment, WY during the summer of 2017, where she gained invaluable experience in the Cowhorse and Cutting industries. Working closely with head trainer Kyle Trahern, Amy learned foundational skills in starting horses and riding various types, while also participating in events and networking with top trainers. This internship not only enhanced her riding abilities but also opened doors for future career opportunities, leading her to a position as a Sales Representative at Equisure, Inc. in Denver.
Stacey Etchemendy interned with Silver Spur Ranches in Wyoming during the summer of 2013, gaining hands-on experience across multiple aspects of the operation, from office work to hay season and cattle management. The internship provided her with invaluable skills and knowledge, which she now applies daily in running a Red Angus cow-calf operation with her husband in Southeast Wyoming. Stacey emphasizes that the internship is a unique opportunity to learn real-world skills, and with hard work and a willingness to learn, it’s an experience that pays off in the long run.
