Essential Duties
- Plans, implements, directs, delegates and evaluates patient care throughout department(s).
- Expert resource for nursing performance and ancillary staff consultant.
- Recommends, develops, implements, and evaluates policies and procedures.
- Assures regulatory compliance.
- Interviews, hires, and provides direction, appraisal, and discipline to nursing personnel.
- Plans, develops and implements annual competency evaluation for nursing personnel.
- Develops work schedules as assigned, adjusts daily schedules as needed.
- Participates in performance improvement, staff and patient education activities, and documentation.
- Promotes cost effectiveness, develops budget for department with Director and approval of CNO.
- Safeguards distribution and delivery of supplies and equipment for patient care, monitors utilization.
- Responds to all emergencies and disasters within the organization.
- Conducts and documents daily rounding throughout the department and with patients.
- Monthly documented caregiver rounds.
Job Requirements
- Current License in the State of Michigan as an RN.
- ACLS, PALS, TNCC preferred.
- Minimum of five years Med/Surg nursing experience.
- Minimum of three years increasing responsibility in healthcare setting.
- Intermediate or Critical Care experience preferred.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in nursing.
- Master’s degree or advanced degree in nursing preferred.
