Sign Language Interpreter

About the role

SignTalk is currently seeking experienced freelance Sign Language Interpreters to provide classroom interpreting services at various K-12 school settings. CODAs & ITP Graduates are also welcome. Opportunities include 5 days a week or shared schedules as well as subbing/per diem sessions.

Responsibilities

• Provide interpreting services in K-12 educational settings
• Work with students, teachers, and staff to ensure effective communication
• Adhere to sign language protocols and guidelines
• Ensure accurate interpretation of spoken language to sign language and vice versa

Requirements

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Experience working in educational settings
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (for per diem work)
• Ability to work flexible hours and varying schedules

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (for per diem work)
• Passing score on an ASL proficiency test
• Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations regarding interpreter services

Pay

Sign Language Interpreter rates are negotiated based on Experience, Skills, Credentials, Setting and location!
