About the role
SignTalk is seeking experienced freelance Sign Language Interpreters to provide classroom interpreting services at various K-12 school settings.
Responsibilities
- Provide interpreting services in K-12 educational settings
- Work with students, teachers, and staff to ensure effective communication
- Adhere to professional ethics and guidelines set forth by organizations like EIPA and RID
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities
Requirements
- EIPA Credentialed & RID Certified interpreters preferred
- CODAs and ITP graduates are welcome
- Opportunities available for 5 days a week or shared schedules, including subbing/per diem sessions
Qualifications
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Experience working in educational settings
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of Deaf culture and community resources
- Flexibility with scheduling
