Sign Language Interpreter

About the role

SignTalk is seeking experienced freelance Sign Language Interpreters to provide classroom interpreting services at various K-12 school settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide interpreting services in K-12 educational settings
• Work with students, teachers, and staff to ensure effective communication
• Adhere to professional ethics and guidelines set forth by organizations like EIPA and RID
• Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities

Requirements

• EIPA Credentialed & RID Certified interpreters preferred
• CODAs & ITP graduates are welcome
• Flexible scheduling options available
• Ability to work in-person at various school locations in Miami Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties

Qualifications

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Experience working in educational settings
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Passion for serving the Deaf and hearing communities

Pay

Sign Language Interpreter rates are negotiated based on experience, skills, credentials, setting, and location. Rates range from $45.00 to $55.00 per hour.
