About the role
The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors, and is responsible for the organization's consistent achievement of its mission, strategic framework, fund development and financial objectives.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of the organization's operations, including artistic direction, fundraising, and community engagement.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance the organization's impact and sustainability.
- Work closely with the Board of Directors to ensure alignment with the organization's mission and strategic goals.
- Manage the organization's finances, ensuring fiscal responsibility and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including artists, community members, and funders.
- Ensure the organization's facilities are utilized effectively to support programming and community outreach.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership position within a non-profit organization.
- A proven track record of successful fundraising and grant writing.
- Experience in managing budgets and overseeing financial operations.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a strong commitment to the organization's mission and values.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., arts administration, social work, business management).
- Proven leadership experience in a non-profit setting.
- Experience working with diverse communities and understanding of social justice issues.
- Knowledge of arts funding sources and grant writing best practices.
