About the role

The Shuttle Driver is responsible for transporting guests to and/or from the hotel, hospital, or casino and local area in a friendly, efficient, and courteous manner using safe driving practices. They are also responsible for assisting guests with luggage, including delivery and pick-up of guest luggage during arrival and departure, and maintaining the vehicle activity and maintenance logs.

Responsibilities

• Shuttles guests to approved destinations as directed by the manager and client contact. Must learn and remember pick-up and drop-off points, property outlets, meeting rooms, amenities, local attractions, parking rates, etc. (40% of time)
• Communicates courteously and professionally with guests, location staff, and co-workers via telephone, two-way radio, and in person. Greets guests within 30 seconds, uses guest last names when appropriate, and maintains composure under pressure (20% of time)
• Operates vehicles seating sixteen or more people, including the driver. Inspects vehicle at the start of each shift for operational safety (lights, signals, tires, damage, etc.) and records malfunctions or damage for manager review (20% of time)
• Protects guest confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA requirements. Maintains security of client financial and identifying information. Assists patrons with entering and exiting the vehicle, including use of wheelchair lifts and specialized equipment when required. Cleans wheelchairs after each use and checks for safe operation (20% of time)

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger endorsement issued by the state of employment
• Must be at least 21 years of age due to vehicle leasing contract requirements
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license and pass annual/semiannual Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) checks
• Must complete Towne Park’s Wheelchair Safety Training course as applicable
• Must possess a current Medical Examiner’s Certificate and maintain DOT endorsements and bi-annual physical exams as required
• At least three years of commercial driving experience or nine years of general driving experience as a licensed driver

Skills

• Ability to read, write, and communicate in standard English
• Ability to comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos
• Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings
• Basic arithmetic skills, including operations with three-digit numbers, American currency, and understanding of 24-hour/military time
• Ability to understand time-based rates and calculations

Pay

Hourly base pay of $20 per hour. Towne Park is committed to offering competitive, fair, and commensurate compensation based on job-related skills, experience, education, and location.

Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM

• Regularly required to talk or hear; frequently required to sit or stand for extended periods, walk, run, handle objects, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
• Lifting requirements: up to 100 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly
• Majority of work performed outdoors, including exposure to extreme heat and cold weather
• Travel of up to 5% may be required
