About the role
The Shoreline Protection Administrator oversees regulatory activities and structures in Reservation waters, involving supervisory, administrative, and management duties.
Responsibilities
- Regulate activities and structures in Reservation waters
- Supervise and manage resources related to shoreline protection
- Manage financial and administrative tasks associated with resource management
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulations
- Use maps, plats, aerial photography, and other tools to assess and manage shoreline conditions
- Communicate effectively through public speaking, written communication, and personnel management
- Ensure all field activities are conducted safely and according to Tribal guidelines
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in public or business administration, business management, or a natural resource field, with 5 years of increasingly responsible work in resource management, or
- No degree required, 8 years of progressively responsible experience in Tribal Government and Natural Resources Management
- Thorough knowledge of land descriptions, location techniques, program administration, accounting, office practices and procedures, computers and software programs, including Microsoft Office Suite
- High degree of skill using maps, plats, aerial photography, public speaking, written communication, and personnel management
- Valid Montana driver's license
- Wear Tribal Government identification and safety apparel when conducting field activities
- Successfully complete a certified online Defensive Driving course within six months of hire and every three years thereafter
