About the Role

Ring Power Corporation, a full-line Caterpillar dealer with headquarters in St. Augustine and operations across Florida and the Southeastern United States, is seeking a skilled technician to conduct repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting on customer or company-owned equipment. This role emphasizes safety, technical proficiency, and teamwork while contributing to the company’s mission of exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct all work safely, adhering to safety, environmental, and contamination control policies and wearing proper personal protective equipment.
  • Attend and complete required technician training classes to maintain industry awareness and technical proficiency.
  • Maintain a necessary set of tools to diagnose, disassemble, and assemble components according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Perform repairs on equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Work neatly and efficiently, continuously improving work methods, safety standards, and organization.
  • Inspect components to maximize parts reuse and control repair costs.
  • Complete documentation using appropriate software to record repairs and account for repair times.
  • Monitor job expenses against repair estimates, notifying supervisors of cost overruns before job completion.
  • Maintain a positive and supportive attitude toward team efforts, accomplishing tasks on time while upholding safety and quality standards.
  • Train and mentor other team members as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Completion of all required training curriculum to achieve Tech II designation.
  • Strong ability to comprehend written material and communicate effectively with employees and customers.
  • Proficiency in using computers, Microsoft Office products, and relevant dealer software programs (highly desired).
  • Willingness to adapt to frequent training updates (job requirements change requiring re-training once or more per year).

  • Occasionally (up to 3 hours/day): Balancing, stooping, pushing/pulling/lifting 26-50 lbs, pushing/pulling/lifting over 50 lbs.
  • Constantly (6-8 hours/day): Sitting, inside conditions (protected from weather but not temperature changes).

Environmental Conditions

  • Frequently (3-6 hours/day): Extreme heat (temperatures above 100°F), noise (requiring shouting to be heard), vibration, hazards (e.g., moving mechanical parts, electrical current, high places, heat, chemicals), atmospheric conditions (fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, poor ventilation), exposure to oils.
  • Occasionally (up to 3 hours/day): Outside environmental conditions, extreme cold (temperatures below 32°F), air particulates/contaminants (requiring respirator use).
