About the Role

Lead mechanic provides guidance to lower-level technicians in repair and technical inspection techniques and procedures according to directives, technical manuals, work standards, and operational policies.

Responsibilities

  • Performs mechanical repairs and services to equipment daily.
  • Performs motor and gear box changes and maintenance.
  • Contributes to daily start-up and monthly department meetings, ensuring thorough communication to associates.
  • Manages and monitors the performance and efficiency of repair operations.
  • Actively participates in technical and safety training programs.
  • Performs computer-related activities, including work management and project scheduling systems, Computer Aided Design (CAD) programs, email, calendar, and spreadsheets.
  • Directs Maintenance Mechanics to maintain plant equipment safely and properly, aiming for 100% reliability and minimum downtime for unexpected repairs.
  • Covers operations and maintenance positions as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years of transportation mechanic experience.
  • High school diploma.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License.

Pay

$25–$35 per hour, depending on experience.

Schedule

6:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
