About the Role
Lead mechanic provides guidance to lower-level technicians in repair and technical inspection techniques and procedures according to directives, technical manuals, work standards, and operational policies.
Responsibilities
- Performs mechanical repairs and services to equipment daily.
- Performs motor and gear box changes and maintenance.
- Contributes to daily start-up and monthly department meetings, ensuring thorough communication to associates.
- Manages and monitors the performance and efficiency of repair operations.
- Actively participates in technical and safety training programs.
- Performs computer-related activities, including work management and project scheduling systems, Computer Aided Design (CAD) programs, email, calendar, and spreadsheets.
- Directs Maintenance Mechanics to maintain plant equipment safely and properly, aiming for 100% reliability and minimum downtime for unexpected repairs.
- Covers operations and maintenance positions as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Three (3) years of transportation mechanic experience.
- High school diploma.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License.
Pay
$25–$35 per hour, depending on experience.
Schedule
6:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
