Shop Apprentice, Service Maintenance

Responsibilities

• Perform light mechanical repair and preventive maintenance on Internal Combustion (IC) engines, natural gas and liquefied petroleum (LP) generators.
• Assist Shop Technicians and Mechanics with corrective maintenance.
• Wash units, trucks and other equipment (inside and out).
• Perform preventive maintenance on pressure washer.
• Move generator units to and from locations using a forklift.
• Conduct forklift daily, weekly, and monthly inspections.
• Assist Shop Mechanics with removing/installing parts, checking Standard Operating Procedures, and routine inspections.
• Assist team members with removing/installing parts, verifying engine specifications, and repairing/maintaining shop tools/equipment.
• Keep the work area and shop clean; ensure tools are put away.
• Perform all other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: No prior experience required; relevant experience, honorably discharged veteran status, or forklift experience preferred.
• Certifications, Licenses & Registrations: Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

Requirements

• Physical demands: sitting, standing, walking/moving throughout facility, talking, seeing (close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, focus adjustment), hearing, using hands to type/touch/handle/feel, bending/stooping, squatting/crouching, reaching, kneeling, pushing/pulling, frequently standing and reaching with arms/hands, occasionally walking and climbing/balancing, regularly lifting/moving up to 25 lbs.
• Willing to consent to and pass a background check and drug screening.
• Must be able to pass a WorkSTEPS physical.
