About the role
An opportunity is available for an experienced Shipside Support Engineer to join an Interiors Development team. The role focuses on providing design and shipside engineering services for a military platform. The position requires an individual who can work with flexibility to meet factory demands, which may include alternate shifts.
Responsibilities
- Develop, integrate, and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design.
- Develop, maintain, and modify structural and interior payload system and component designs using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools or other design methods.
- Provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers, and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.
- Lead performance, integration, and analysis of tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
- Manage supplier development, test, and production activities and coordinate with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals.
- Provide Design and Shipside Engineering services for insulation designs, aircraft monument designs, change orders, and drawing revisions in Catia, Enovia, and IVT.
- Support shipside activities in an austere environment, which includes climbing scaffolding and working inside a platform while modifications are in progress.
Requirements
- Proficiency in shipside support, blankets design, and discrepancy disposition.
- Experience in factory shipside support.
- Must be a Subject Matter Expert in Insulation Design.
Skills
- Catia, Enovia, and IVT.
- Microsoft Word.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with aerospace defense platforms.
- Experience with VIP modifications.
