About the role

Crane Consumables, a local, family-owned manufacturer of bar code, pricing, and packaging labels, is seeking a reliable and self-motivated individual to support our warehouse function. This role involves moving inventory and preparing product for shipment as part of a collaborative team. The ideal candidate will enjoy variety in their workday, including forklift operation, picking, packing, and other warehouse and shipping-related tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Review the Shipping Log to determine daily shipping requirements.
  • Ensure all assigned shipments are pulled, prepared/wrapped, and shipped in a timely manner.
  • Accurately count and pack product according to order instructions or assigned orders, ensuring proper labeling of cartons.
  • Review shipping paperwork, including Bills of Lading and Picking Sheets, and verify accuracy against product cases.
  • Safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks to unload/load trucks and store raw material and finished goods in assigned areas.
  • Repackage and/or relabel products as needed.
  • Report defective or questionable product to the Shipping or Quality Manager.
  • Assist in correcting inventory discrepancies and work with Warehouse and Production personnel to ensure inventory is stored in the proper location.
  • Alert Management of misplaced product and/or inaccurate inventory counts.
  • Maintain working areas in an orderly and clean manner.
  • Adhere to all safety requirements and company policies.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of warehouse experience, including 1 year of safe forklift operation.
  • Strong work ethic, excellent attendance, and consistent employment history (tenure length at previous employers will be closely reviewed).
  • Ability to successfully complete a drug and background check.
  • Flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs consistently and maneuver up to 1,500 lbs with a hand truck.
  • Ability to climb ladders.
  • Proficiency in using computer software to understand sales orders and shipping instructions.
  • Proficiency in counting and basic math calculations to determine product weights and case counts.

Schedule

Generally 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Note: Carriers are scheduled from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM, and shift end may vary from 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM depending on truck loading completion.

Pay

Base pay with a substantial quarterly bonus opportunity after 3 months of service.
