Shipping and Warehouse Associate

ASGCO has a Shipping and Warehouse Associate opening for a candidate with a great positive attitude who excels at working in a team environment which helps drive the business. This applicant must be able to maintain high quality work, high level of attention to detail while ensuring personal productivity and safe operation.
Responsibilities
- Keep up with the workflow of everyday process in the shipping division
- Adhere to ASGCO Quality Assurance Standards and Safety Standards
- Prepare orders for shipment to customers
- Be proactive and able to implement more effective ways of accomplishing goals of the department
- Report to management if there is to be maintenance on any machinery in department
- Unload from truck and sign for delivery, ensure there is no damage to product
- Take packing slip off of freight and staple it to trucking company bill of lading and place in shipping office
- Place freight on shelf in proper location or desired location for stocking
- Pull order as they come, pull appropriate stock from warehouse
- Prepare manifests (packing lists) for all orders
- Provide assistance to the Logistics Supervisor when required
- Maintain good house-keeping and organization of warehouse
- Other responsibilities as seen fit by management
Requirements
- Candidates must pass a background check and drug screen
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2-4 years of relative experience in a manufacturing facility
- Be able and certified to drive a forklift
- Ability to multi-task in fast paced dynamic environment
- Have the ability to lift 50lbs., bending, kneeling, reaching and standing for long periods of time
- Attendance and reliability a MUST
- Can lift up to 100lbs, bending, kneeling, reaching and standing for long periods of time, significant fine finger dexterity
Working Conditions
Frequently exposed to regulated noise, cold working conditions also exposed to smells that are within the guidelines
Possible exposure extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, fumes or airborne particles
While performing the duties of this job, you will be required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see.
Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday
Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, which may include a hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, gloves and other required protective equipment as required.
May be required to work overtime on as needed basis.
