Shipping Utility

Responsibilities

• Loading cars
• Keeping up with inventory
• Operating mobile equipment
• Cleaning up
• Following the crane
• Stacking/re-stacking of bundles

All duties assigned by the supervisor are to be performed in a safe and efficient manner.

• Placing dunnage on stacks, trucks, or railcars
• Scanning material in and out of inventory
• Visually inspect material for apparent surface defects
• Banding bundles and railcars as required
• Operating mobile equipment including truck shifter, forklift and rail shifter
• Loading trucks and railcars with finished material, billets and secondary items
• Securing and tarping trailers as required
• Communicating with drivers and other departments
• Working and covering overtime when required
• Stacking/re-stacking steel bundles
• Any other duties assigned by Leadership

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Practical computer skills
• Two years verifiable work experience in an industrial environment
