About the role

The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for directing daily activities of all personnel to enhance the overall efficiencies and accuracies of all processes required to obtain products in HU’s from staging locations and process through to loading trucks and shipping LTL. The role involves assigning work and maintaining workflow at optimum levels for domestic and export shipments, monitoring reports for old orders, incomplete warehouse tasks, and goods issue not complete, prioritizing and coordinating with group leaders, SAP coordinators, and customer service reps to schedule customer orders to meet delivery and productivity requirements. The role also entails timely completion of assigned Corrective Action Requests, daily assignment and verification of aisles/areas for cleanup and 5S, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, performing safety observation tours, conducting disciplinary action as necessary, maintaining timely employee records concerning attendance and production performance, performing effective shift handoffs, overseeing packaging of engine overhaul kits per customer & production order requirements, coordinating picking and shipment of bulk components and packaging items as necessary, daily reporting of metrics on local SFM boards & daily operations meeting board, implementing actions to achieve department KPI’s, and implementing new ideas and processes to improve efficiencies and reduce waste.

Responsibilities

  • Assign work and maintain workflow at optimum levels for domestic and export shipments
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Perform safety observation tour monthly
  • Oversee packaging of engine overhaul kits per customer & production order requirements
  • Covering shifts to include status of radios, harnesses, forklifts, scanners, overtime plans (stay late/arrive early assignments & report times that impact the next shift)
  • Implement actions to achieve department KPI’s
  • Implement new ideas and processes to improve efficiencies and reduce waste

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Some college classes in business or manufacturing preferred
  • Ability to identify and solve problems, make decisions, and to work within assigned deadlines with a high attention to detail
  • Intermediate computer skills, especially in MS Office SAP experience preferred
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment required in department is preferred
