About the role
Assists Director of Distribution in ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely operation of the Shipping Department and Transport department. Provides direction and oversight for the implementation, operation, and maintenance of automated shipping systems. This position requires demonstration of competency for all on-the-job activities that may directly or indirectly affect product safety, legality, and quality.
Responsibilities
- Carry out policies established by company officials and policy manuals.
- Ensure shipping employees are properly instructed in the care and safe operation of equipment.
- Direct and oversee activities of Shipping Supervisors, 3rd party transport providers, and shipping employees.
- Function in the capacity of the Distribution Manager in their absence.
- Ensure products received from Production Department and other plants are properly handled and shipped on schedule.
- Ensure sales department and affiliated companies receive products ordered on schedule.
- Assist in the recruitment of qualified personnel to meet shipping and transport personnel needs.
- Develop and maintain good employee relations.
- Maintain Safety Programs and safe operating procedures; monitor employee compliance.
- Maintain cleanliness of work area.
- Assist Distribution Manager in maintaining familiarization and compliance with Federal Motor Carrier safety regulations.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures (EEO, Sarbanes Oxley, Sexual Harassment, Safety, etc.).
- Perform other duties as directed by supervision or deemed integral by management, including adherence to work schedules and attendance policies.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalency.
- Completion of formal management skills training program.
Qualifications
Preferred: Two or more years of experience as a transport driver or supervisor, and two years of experience as a Shipping Supervisor.

Pay
Salary Range: $70,500.00 - $92,475.60
