About the role

The Warehouse Supervisor at Saputo is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all activities in the warehouse department to maximize productivity. This includes planning, assigning, and directing work, addressing product and employee complaints, and resolving problems. The role involves applying continuous improvement methods, maintaining inventory and product loss control, coordinating timely and accurate receiving, and ensuring safety and operational guidelines are met.

Responsibilities

  • Planner, assigns, and directs work in the warehouse department
  • Addresses product and employee complaints
  • Solves problems related to warehouse operations
  • Maintains inventory and product loss control
  • Coordinates timely and accurate receiving
  • Ensures safety/operational guidelines are met
  • Assigns, directs, reviews, and monitors work of supervised staff
  • Ensures proper procedures are in place and being followed for efficient warehouse activities, employee safety, and state and federal guidelines
  • Supports and leads Warehouse Coordinator activities and oversees SAP transactions
  • Supports inventory activities to identify, investigate, and resolve inventory discrepancies
  • Recommends improvements to reduce costs and drive productivity within the department
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems
  • Maintains time and shipping records as required
  • Prepares reports for management review
  • Ensures that the warehouse work areas are always clean and organized
  • Supervises and coordinates product rework activities
  • Collaborates with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments
  • Supervises and coordinates daily activities, ensuring effective selection, retention, feedback, disciplinary action, and performance management
  • Provides effective employee training and instruction
  • Oversees instruction, implementation, and enforcement of policies as they relate to employees
  • Adheres to the Saputo Code of Ethics and actively applies Saputo values
  • Engages the typical responsibilities of a manager requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating, and delegating
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or a minimum of 2 years plant experience in a warehouse setting
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Experience leading and following Safety/Security Policies and Procedures
  • Ability to follow all Sanitation and Quality Policies and Procedures, and report and follow through on any deficiencies
  • Lift truck certification or the ability to obtain a lift truck certification (Powered Industrial Trucks)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and computer-based applications, SAP a plus
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs; ability to lead others through change
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Skill in organization and prioritization, and attention to detail
  • Team player and leader with the ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines
  • Physical abilities include walking, climbing, kneeling, stooping, and lifting 50 lbs. for extended periods in a manufacturing facility
  • Environment includes wet, cold, hot, humid, chemicals, high noise – controlled at TWA of 85dB, wear approved personal protective equipment

Qualifications
