Job Summary
This position is responsible for leading the loading department, acting as a point of contact for scheduling and ensuring the department is adhering to safety standards and following daily work orders in a timely, safe, and productive manner.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conducts daily huddles with department regarding schedule, orders, and maintenance concerns
- Confers with management regarding scheduling and maintenance concerns
- Operates a propane sit-down forklift
- Sort shipments for destination and group merchandise to be included with or fulfilled in an order
- Picking, pulling, and loading of finished materials for transport and unloading of raw materials
- Moving products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment
- Inspect the forklift to determine the need for repairs and to guarantee safety
- Verify piece counts on each pallet and compares to label
- Material handling of all products
- Follow shipping work orders
- Other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
- Highly motivated with good sound work ethics
- Must demonstrate safe working practices and possess great attention to detail
- Team player able to follow instructions from management and peers
- Ability to learn and operate new equipment
- Ability to use measuring devices (gauges, tapes, rulers)
- Strong problem-solving skills and math skills with the capability to calculate square footage and batch size
Required Education and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent is required
- Minimum of three (3) years previous forklift experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in Shipping and Receiving
- Proven leadership skills and abilities
Working Conditions
Fast paced manufacturing environment, loading dock, and driveways. Will be working in all weather conditions.
Schedule
40 hours per week, Monday – Friday (Day shift)

Pay
Hourly rate of $27.69
