Shipping/Receiving Clerk and Material

Buffalo, NY. Tapecon, Inc. Shipping/Receiving Clerk and Material Handler. FT. 1st Shift. Benefits. Position Summary Prepares finished goods for shipment. Verifies completion of shipment against shipping order. Packs shipments, affixes shipping labels, selects method of shipment, weights and determines shipping charges, and issues bill of lading. Maintains shipping records. This is a first shift position with a schedule of 8am-4:30pm. Essential Functions Shipping Understands packing and shipping procedures/requirements for all freight & small parcel companies used.Solves problems associated with carrier, routing, and shipping schedules.Tracks shipment when necessary.Ship products per customers specification.Communicates with appropriate parties should there be any issues with meeting shipping requirements.Accurately process shipments through ERP system.Contact common carriers for transport and fill out shipping manifests and other paperwork.Maintain shipment records and other paperwork.Operate forklift. Packaging Assures that products to ship are the correct part number, with correct quantity and complies with customer specifications.Packages all jobs per customer specifications.Perform sample segregation, and stock packaging as needed.Ensures designated jobs go to Quality Control for any required audits and comply with packaging specifications. Education And Experience High school diploma or GED1-2 years experience in shipping, warehouse operations, inventory control, logistics, or a manufacturing environment preferred.Experience using ERP systems and coordinating freight shipments preferred.Forklift experience and/or certification preferred.
