About the Role

Assist supervisors in directing the activities of shipping personnel on assigned shifts to separate and accurately ship product to its destination. This position requires demonstrating competency in all on-the-job activities that may directly or indirectly affect product safety, legality, and quality.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and train shipping employees in the care and safe operation of equipment.
• Review records and procedures to ensure proper use of time and materials.
• Perform continuous inspection of products to ensure quality standards are met.
• Ensure all equipment is in good operating condition.
• Promote positive relations and interdepartmental communication and cooperation.
• Maintain a safe working environment through enforcement of safety policies, inspections, and periodic safety meetings.
• Cover for employees who are out sick or on vacation as needed.
• Plan and adjust work assignments to cover all phases of shipping.
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area.
• Ensure compliance with all company rules, policies, and procedures (e.g., EEO, Sexual Harassment, Safety).
• Perform other duties as directed by supervision.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Four or more years of experience in shipping or related fields (preferred).
