About the role
The Shipping I team member supports warehouse and shipping operations by assisting with product staging, material movement, loading activities, inventory accuracy, and general warehouse organization. This role serves as a developmental position with the opportunity to learn shipping processes and progress into more advanced shipping responsibilities.
Shift: Swing Shift – 3:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. (mandatory overtime)
Hourly Compensation: Starting at $23.00 per hour, depending on experience
Responsibilities
- Assist with staging and preparing products for shipment.
- Move materials and finished goods throughout the department.
- Support loading activities under the direction of Shipping Leads and Shipping II team members.
- Perform basic scanning, verification, and documentation tasks.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Assist with restaging, sorting, and inventory accuracy activities.
- Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and warehouse protocols.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and leadership.
- Perform bending, reaching, stooping, twisting, and other material-handling activities throughout the shift.
- Learn MITER Brands shipping processes with the goal of developing into a Shipping II role.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently stand, walk, and move throughout the warehouse.
- Repeatedly lift, carry, push, and pull materials and products.
- Lift up to 50 pounds independently and participate in team lifts when necessary.
- Bend, stoop, reach, and twist throughout the workday.
- Safely handle glass, frames, and finished products.
- Use handheld scanners and perform basic computer-related tasks.
- Stand for extended periods during 10- to 12-hour shifts.
- Demonstrate fine motor skills for scanning, handling tools, and completing documentation.
- Visually inspect products to identify quality concerns or defects.
- Walk and work on concrete flooring throughout the shift.
- Work in warehouse conditions, including temperature fluctuations, noise, and dust.
- Maintain a consistent work pace while meeting safety and quality expectations.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail when staging, verifying, and handling products.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous warehouse, shipping, distribution, manufacturing, or logistics experience preferred.
- Basic computer and scanning device experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and attendance.
