About the role
We are seeking an ambitious certified Forklift Operator to join our team. This role involves the safe operation of forklift equipment for transporting materials, conducting pre-equipment inspections, and potentially assisting in other departments such as shipping and inventory as business needs dictate.
Responsibilities
- Operate industrial forklifts to transport materials between receiving, storage, service, and shipping areas.
- Organize and secure materials on pallets, sacks, and other storage devices.
- Perform routine pre-inspection on equipment to ensure proper working condition.
- Manually load or unload material from pallets, skids, platforms, or lifting devices.
- Receive inventory, ensuring count accuracy and condition of daily inbound and return items.
- Coordinate loading and unloading operations with managers, supervisors, employees, and vendors.
- Compile and maintain records of quantity, type, and value of materials, merchandise, or supplies in inventory.
- Count material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies in stock and post totals to inventory manually or using a computer.
- Demonstrate responsibility and compliance with all safety and quality policies and standards.
- Assist other departments as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 to 6 months experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- At least 1 year of experience driving a forklift, with a valid or obtainable forklift license.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Detailed-oriented with the ability to accurately read purchase orders, packing lists, and follow verbal work instructions.
- Demonstrated organizational ability and follow-through.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to work harmoniously in a team as well as autonomously.
- Basic Excel experience and comfort with verbal and email communication.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift at least 75 lbs without assistance using proper lifting techniques or with the assistance of a pallet jack.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
Work Environment
This is a warehouse-based position performed on-site in the warehouse.
