About the Role
Wright Auction House is seeking a full-time, on-site Shipping Coordinator, Client Service professional for our Chicago, IL location. This role is ideal for someone with experience in logistics and organization of fine art and design, with a strong eye for detail and a collaborative approach to supporting auction operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide client service related to shipping inbound and outbound inventory to and from our facility
- Coordinate and lead multiple, concurrent high-touch and/or high-volume shipping quotes for buyers or consignors
- Greet and coordinate with shippers, couriers, and clients to release (or receive) property, including communicating professionally with vendors and clients in person, via email or over the phone
- Assist with post sale packing and shipping of items that qualify for our in-house packing services
- Help organize and pull sold items for shippers and client pickups
- Manage and update outgoing shipping calendar with current information regarding shipping/vendor delivery and collection times/dates and maintain accurate data maintenance of picked up and shipped items
- Pursue buyers and consignors for timely collection of their property from storage, collaborating with accounting, specialists, and warehouse departments
- Ensure all property is documented in our inventory system, with location and shipment status and process all shipping documents
- Provide shipping solutions to winning bidders, including property groups located at multiple branch locations
- Collaborate with the Handling team and provide support for handling within the warehouse and gallery installations and deinstallations
- Provide hands-on assistance for high-volume intake appointments as needed
- Respond to property-related inquiries as needed
- Provide support during auction previews and on the day of sale as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of art handling experience in an auction house, gallery, museum, or similar arts environment
- Minimum 3 years of client service and/or experience with assisting customers in person, by phone or by email
- Strong professional communication skills (written and verbal) and excellent organizational skills, with sharp attention to detail
- Proficiency with standard computer programs and tools, like Outlook and Slack
- Physical Requirements: lifting, moving, heavy objects (in excess of 50 lbs)
- Reliable, detail-oriented, able to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, and committed to maintaining high standards of accuracy and productivity

Preferred Skills
- Experience with fine art packing is a plus
- Prior auction industry experience is a plus

Pay
$55,000-$60,000 depending on experience and skillset
