Position Summary
The Shipping Clerk is responsible for fulfilling orders while working both independently and as part of a team. This role requires the ability to complete order fulfillment for both internal and external customers in an accurate and timely manner. The position requires initiative, a commitment to teamwork, a customer-focused mindset, and a demonstrated ability to identify and implement efficient solutions.
Essential Responsibilities & Expectations
- Select and pull correct parts from inventory in the appropriate quantities
- Accurately process and complete parts orders with minimal supervision
- Safely operate lift trucks in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Respond professionally and effectively to customer needs and requests
- Mentor and support Shipping Clerk Trainees as assigned
- Deliver parts and packages to designated areas in a timely manner
- Cookpickup and delivery of merchandise with common carriers
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or the equivalent
- Experience: A minimum of 1-3 years of work experience involving shipping related tasks is preferred. Experience using personal computers and basic typing skills are required.
Skills and Competencies
- Effective written, verbal, and telephone communication skills
- Basic computer and data entry skills
Job Training Requirements
- Completion of area-specific parts operations training
- Completion of required OSHA training
- Forklift (lift truck) operator certification
- Completion of all required compliance training
Safety Summary
- Work is typically performed in a Parts Warehouse or Service Department shop environment. This position involves exposure to physical risk and varying weather conditions and may require extended periods of standing and walking on hard surfaces.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to pass pre-employment background check, physical exam (including drug screen), and meet all physical requirements for the position.
- Ability to speak, listen, read, write, and type effectively.
- Ability to reach, kneel, grasp, stoop, and perform repetitive motions.
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to climb on and around heavy equipment.
- Exposure to job site-related hazards.
- Ability to work effectively in stressful or high-pressure situations.
