Shipping Clerk
About the role
The Shipping Clerk position at Schaedler Yesco Distribution is responsible for preparing, processing, and coordinating outgoing shipments to ensure products are delivered accurately, safely, and on time. This role supports warehouse and logistics operations by maintaining shipping records, verifying inventory, packaging materials, and communicating with carriers and internal departments.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, package, label, and process outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently
- Verify shipment contents against purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices
- Cook up with carriers and transportation providers for pickup and delivery schedules
- Operate shipping software and warehouse management systems to track shipments and inventory
- Maintain accurate shipping records, logs, and documentation
- Inspect products for damages or discrepancies prior to shipment
- Absorb incoming materials and verify inventory counts as needed
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and shipping procedures
- Utilize reporting and inventory metrics to support warehouse efficiency and accuracy
- Communicate effectively with internal departments, customers, and vendors regarding shipment status
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment
- Support cycle counts and inventory control activities
- Aid in process improvements and best practices within shipping and warehouse operations
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and forklifts (if certified)
- Meet productivity and accuracy standards established by management
Requirements
This position requires a high school diploma or GED. Previous warehouse, shipping, or logistics experience is preferred, along with experience using shipping software, scanners, or warehouse management systems. Basic computer proficiency is also required.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail and organizational skills, excellent customer service and communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. They should also be able to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively, and have basic computer and data entry proficiency.
Skills
Knowledge of warehouse, shipping, and logistics procedures, familiarity with shipping carriers, freight processes, and inventory systems, and strong problem-solving and teamwork abilities are essential.

Schedule
The Shipping Clerk works Monday through Friday, starting at 6 AM until production is completed.
