Shipping Clerk

Shift

8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (M – F)

Responsibilities

• Process shipments into Epicor ERP system throughout the day
• Ensure that required packing list, certificates, commercial invoices or other documents are prepared and are included with shipment
• Print out Sales Order picklists and accurately pull corresponding product and quantities
• Prepare product (cartons, packing material & palletization) for outbound shipment to ensure safe arrival at destination
• Contact and select carriers to schedule level of service as applicable to ensure safe arrival of product at destination using negotiated transportation contract rates (LTL, UPS, FedEx)
• Work with production leaders to pull material into packaging/shipping in order to help drive on-time shipments
• Communicate with Sales and Production and related support areas as needed
• Receive cross-training in other shipping/warehouse areas and perform those duties as needed (example: Cycle Counting)
• Practice good housekeeping and safety fundamentals keeping aisles and electrical panels clear and inventory well organized to facilitate efficient order pulling and inventory accuracy
• Load and unload trucks as needed
• Ensure all scheduled pickups are completed and secure building at end of day
• Operate various equipment, such as pallet jack, reach truck, and tow motor, etc.
• Assist with Receiving when needed
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of two years' experience in shipping / warehousing operations required
• Strong work ethic with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Good attention to detail
• Entrepreneurial nature: self-directed, goal-oriented, customer focused
• Experience with carrier web portals and LTL freight shipping required
• Experience with international shipments
• Proficient in MS Office
• Tow motor experience required

Physical requirements

• Ability to routinely lift & handle boxes weighing up to 60 lbs; most 20 lbs. or less
• Use various material handling equipment as required
