About the role

The Shipping Clerk position is available within our Shipping team. The role involves verifying, packaging, and shipping all outgoing packages for submissions. Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the position is based in our Jersey City, NJ office.

Responsibilities

• Sort all orders by return carrier service.
• Verify order correctness and completeness.
• Package orders in mailing box containers, seal with tape and attach outside label.
• Process shipping for specified return carrier and close order.

Requirements

• 1-3+ months of previous shipping experience.
• A high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide by 5, 10, and/or 20, and ability to perform these operations using weight measurement and volume.
• Listen effectively and get clarification; able to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and coworkers.
• Read and interpret written information and write simple correspondence.
• Support everyone's efforts to succeed.

• Solid computer skills and familiarity with business software such as Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.

Qualifications

• Bending and Twisting: Bending neck/waist, twisting neck/waist, and squatting.
• Computer Use: Typing, mouse work, and sitting and looking at a computer potentially for long periods of time.
• Hand Use: Regular hand use for various tasks, potentially including the use of pliers, watch tools, or a holder saw.
• Hearing Requirements: Ability to hear alarms, signals, and verbal instructions.
• Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift, carry, and move materials up to 50 pounds.
• Sitting or Standing: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
• Temperature and Humidity: Occasional exposure to warehouse environments without heating or cooling with fluctuations in temperatures and humidity.

• Good communication skills.

Pay

The reasonable estimated hourly rate for this position is $17. Actual compensation varies based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including location, job level, prior experience and skill set.

Schedule

The Shipping Clerk works full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work as needed.
