Responsibilities
- Interpret construction drawings with basic mathematic ability
- Lay out, fabricate, assemble and install foundations, structures, components and deck packages
- Develop a working knowledge of structural weld joint fit-up/weld symbols, burning and grinding operations
- Work with company drawings, test documents, technical manuals, and shipyard procedures
- Work in entry in restricted/confined spaces
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED or 2+ years of related technical experience
- 5+ years of shipfitting related experience
- Available to train and work on any shift
- Preference given for Vocational, Technical and Community Colleges or Apprentice programs
- Successful completion of the Eastern CT Workforce Investment Board (EWIB) Manufacturing Pipeline Initiative training program
- Knowledge in fitting, fairing and shaping steel pieces, hull sections, bulkheads and equipment foundations
- Ability to interpret structural drawings, technical manuals, test documents and diagrams
Qualifications
- Must be available to work all shifts and in all environments as well as Radiological areas of the boat
- Willing to accept road job assignments
- Individuals are required to possess their own basic hand tools
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD secret clearance

- Hourly Rates from $33.19 - $43.20
