Must-Have Qualifications
- Minimum 4+ years of trade experience
- Strong basic math, reading, and comprehension skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints (metric & standard)
- Knowledge of layout, fit-up, and fabrication of steel plate and beam
- Experience using trade tools such as: grinder, hand torch, hydraulic jack, ratchet jack, chain fall, come‑along, combination square, framing square, hand level, plumb bob
Nice-to-Have Skills
- 6+ years marine, shipbuilding, or construction experience
- Knowledge of unit setting and erection, including use of datum lines
- Familiarity with fit-up and alignment tolerances
- Advanced blueprint reading skills
