About the role

The In-Vehicle Team at Nuro is seeking a Shift Supervisor to lead a high-performing team of AV operators. Key responsibilities include hiring and onboarding new hires, managing team performance, and ensuring operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Hiring & Onboarding: Running the interview process and onboarding new hires, collaborating with Learning & Development to develop interview and onboarding processes.
  • People Development: Managing a team of approximately 20 operators, providing feedback, coaching, and mentoring, ensuring training and competency are up-to-date.
  • Performance Management: Conducting performance reviews in line with evaluation metrics, working with stakeholders to update metrics and improve performance measurement.
  • Execution Management: Leading start-of-shift and end-of-shift activities, including operator attendance tracking, software burns, data imports, and key/disks preparation. Working with planning teams to ensure operators are trained and ready for new features/capabilities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Engaging in cross-functional collaboration to enhance efficiency and throughput, sharing best practices, and driving standardization.
  • Incident Response: Responding to operator and on-site incidents according to established procedures, reviewing performance metrics, and identifying and implementing corrective actions.

Requirements

  • At least 2+ years of experience managing teams of at least 10+ direct reports, including hiring, performance management, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Understanding of US labor laws, employment laws, and driving laws.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take initiative to resolve issues.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A flexible schedule that can accommodate nights, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Experience in the AV/delivery industry preferred.
  • At least 4+ years of experience managing large teams (15+).

Benefits

Nuro offers a competitive benefits package, including a base pay range of $80,180 to $108,240 for the level at which this job has been scoped, an annual performance bonus, equity, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
