Shift Engineer- Overnight

Responsibilities

• Primarily responsible for general maintenance and repairs in guest room, meeting space, and front of the house areas, as well as back of the house areas including kitchen, laundry, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on major equipment and systems, using a Windows-based computer system.
• Read blueprints and schematics (preferred).
• Use basic trouble-shooting skills.

Requirements

• A minimum of three years building maintenance experience is required, with hotel experience preferred.
• Previous general hotel maintenance experience preferred.
• Two to three years of maintenance experience required.
• Strong troubleshooting skills (electricity, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, etc.) required.
• Good communications skills are required.
• Able to work a flexible schedule, must be able to work overnight shifts.
• Able to stoop, bend, kneel, and stand for long periods of time.
• Able to lift, pull, and push a moderate amount of weight.
• Able to lead and motivate a team, with strong organizational and delegation skills.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read blue prints and schematics (preferred).
• Basic trouble-shooting skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Flexible scheduling ability, including overnight shifts.
• Physical stamina for tasks such as stooping, bending, kneeling, standing, lifting, pulling, pushing, and stooping.
• Leadership and delegation skills.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
