About the role

Responsible for operation of boiler room, machine rooms, and related systems throughout Seattle Children's, and repairs and maintenance of the complex to provide a safe and comfortable environment for staff and patients.

Responsibilities

  • Operate high pressure steam boilers and related systems and devices
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on the complex to ensure a safe and comfortable environment
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and standards

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • Minimum five (5) years experience in operation of high pressure steam boilers, and related systems and devices
  • A minimum of a Grade II Steam Engineer license issued by the City of Seattle obtained within 12 months of hire
  • Seattle Refrigeration Operating Engineer license must be obtained within 12 months of hire
  • -NFPA 70E within 90 days of hire
  • Preferred Grade I Steam Engineer license issued by the City of Seattle
  • UST Class C

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must pass a background check

Skills

  • Knowledge of high pressure steam boilers and related systems and devices
  • Ability to operate and maintain complex machinery
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

$46.96 - $70.43 per hour

This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
