About the role
The Shelter Supervisor at Jefferson Day Center is responsible for supervising front desk operations including shift scheduling, timecards, and payroll preparation. They also ensure staff trainings are conducted, standard operating procedures are followed, and shift adjustments are coordinated.
Responsibilities
- Direct supervision of Off-Site Shelter Programs staff
- Operational administration
- Monitoring, evaluating, and facilitating changes in operational and administrative programs
- Hiring and assuring adequate coverage of shelter staff
- Training and supporting staff
- Attending and participating in staff meetings
- Conducting and overseeing direct client services
- Providing policy and procedure guidance to subordinate staff
- Supportive care to residents experiencing personal crisis
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least 1 year of experience in public contact/customer service
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience
- Skilled training in Trauma-Informed Care, Mental Health First Aid, and conflict resolution
- Four months successful experience as a Salvation Army Shelter Monitor (or related experience)
- Washington State Driver’s License required
