Responsibilities

  • Perform basic sheet metal operations such as drilling, riveting, cutting on airframe and associated components.
  • Apply and remove sealant, sound deadening and finish materials.
  • Maintain, clean and repair shop facilities, equipment and tooling when required.
  • Navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
  • Communicate effectively (speaking, writing, reading) in English.
  • Assist in organizing manpower and setting priorities for involved projects.
  • Supervise other technicians in some capacity.

Requirements

  • A High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Airframe and Powerplant License is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.
  • Prior experience working with sheet metal is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Basic to advanced knowledge of turbine aircraft structures.
  • Ability to read blueprints and working from drawings.
  • Strong fastening systems, procedures, and techniques.
  • Basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
  • Effective communication skills (speaking, writing, reading).

Pay

The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $22-$38. Additional compensation in the form of a shift differential will be provided if the employee is assigned to an alternate shift.

Schedule

Work is performed in a hangar environment subject to extreme temperature variations from very cold to very hot. Work outside during aircraft runs will occur. Varied positions in and around the aircraft. Equipment used includes personal hand tools, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical equipment, jacks, stands, lifts, and other support devices, tugs, power carts, and other engine-powered equipment.
