About the Role

As the Senior Superintendent, you will be the primary job site supervisor with operational responsibility for employees involved in the installation, alteration, addition, and/or repair of mechanical/HVAC systems, equipment, and associated materials for large, typically ground-up projects requiring complex coordination of multiple subordinate supervisors and crews.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the operations on the construction sites, responsible for all CEC staff on the job.
• Manage large projects of more than twenty-five persons.
• Mentor and counsel employees.
• Perform working estimates and take-offs jointly with the Project Manager.
• Responsible for quality control and coordination with all other trades.
• Establish work schedules and man-loading charts.
• Interact with representatives of the General Contractor on project scheduling and overall performance issues.
• Provide general supervision to subordinate supervisors and foremen.
• Monitor work as performed, direct subordinate supervisors and crews, and schedule work according to the pace of the job and other trades.
• Handle or oversee the disposition of required office correspondence and administrative paperwork such as official forms, daily reports, time sheets/tickets, safety reports, etc.
• Responsible for overall project safety performance.
• Assure employees are properly trained or instructed in performance of duties.
• Assure compliance with all CEC safety processes and protocols.
• Investigate or assist in investigation and reporting of any accident or safety incidents involving jobsite employees.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective processes, completion of projects, and smooth operation of the department.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years or more of experience running large mechanical projects in commercial/industrial construction.
• High School Graduate, GED, or equivalent.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong believer in Safety.
• Current Driver’s License and own reliable transportation.
• Must meet attendance standards and comply with late/absence notification procedures.
• Must be able to pass drug and background check.

• Work in and around single and multi-story buildings with all exposures typical of a heavy construction site, including portable sanitary facilities.

• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead.
• Lift 51 pounds routinely.
• Constantly move about on the feet.
• Climb ladders of all types.
• Complete full-day assignments involving overhead work.
• Transition from employee parking area or street into construction work areas and access all levels of the building, even if the only means of access is by OSHA-approved site construction ladder or stairs still under construction but acceptable for use.
• Secure tools and materials from storage areas to complete assigned tasks.
• Possess good vision (normal or corrected), including close vision, distance vision, color vision to discern color-coded wires, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Possess good hearing (normal or corrected).
• Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest) at all times.

Schedule

• Work 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week, with overtime as required.
• Flexible work hours, including nights, weekends, and overtime to meet project deadlines.
