Shared Living Caregiver (Leominster, MA)
About the role
Nonotuck is seeking single people, couples and families who are interested in living with and sharing their life with an intellectually or physically disabled person. We are currently searching for shared living caregivers in the Leominster, Fitchburg, Gardner, Webster, and Southbridge areas.
Responsibilities
- Build on and maintain independence by assisting in activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Provide companionship and go on community activities/outings
- Help with grocery shopping, cooking, housekeeping, laundry, routine budget management, medication management, and medical appointments
Requirements
We consider this to be a long-term commitment. Applicants must live in single family homes or apartments (with an extra bedroom) or be willing to move. They should be single, a couple, families, people with children, with pets, and people with or without experience.
Qualifications
The following resources will be available:
- Generous Stipend
- 24-hour emergency on-call assistance
- Monthly in-home visits from a Care Manager
- Access to clinicians for additional support
- Training on home safety skills, medication management
Skills
Providers must be able to provide reliable transportation, pass a standard CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) and Fingerprinting check, and be certified in First Aid/CPR.

Pay
Range above represents difficulty of care payments paid to a caregiver for providing personal care services to an eligible person residing either in the caregiver’s home or in the person’s own home. Stipend rates are contingent upon assessed needs of the person and subject to state approval. Stipend levels 18 through 21 are available only by special application to the purchasing governmental unit.

We support people who need assistance to remain living in a home setting. The individual and shared living caregiver share a home; the shared living caregiver must have an extra bedroom.
