What You Will Do
Grow in a fulfilling career as a Training Manager at the San Francisco International Airport (SFO) working alongside a team of aviation security professionals. You will be responsible for supervising the Security Training Instructors (STIs) and providing a positive team environment by recognizing and building on the strengths and talents of the workforce while ensuring the integrity of VMD and TSA security systems and training methods.
- Foster a professional and collaborative training environment while ensuring fairness and consistency.
- Career Development: Coordinate training personnel conducting security screening in checkpoint, baggage, and layered security operations.
- Coordinate and conduct new hire orientation; establish employee access to required systems, OLC, email accounts, and training platforms.
- Track New Hire Training Program (NTP) progress and ensure 100% completion of all required training milestones.
- Coordinate New Hire Training, including TSO Level I and Level II requirements, and ensure all prerequisites are completed prior to advancement.
- Ensure employees are trained on TSA SOPs, VMD best practices, general orders, policies, and procedures; coordinate recurrent training requirements.
- Develop, distribute, and maintain weekly training status reports for AFSDs, TSMs, TSs, STI staff, TSA leadership, and executive leadership.
- Maintain strong working relationships with TSA stakeholders at all levels, including TSS-E personnel.
- Coordinate training requests, specialized training initiatives, and operational training requirements with TSA counterparts and TSS-E personnel.
- Monitor, mentor, and develop coaches to ensure consistency in On-the-Job Training (OJT) delivery.
- Assign coaches to TSOs and monitor progress throughout the OJT process.
- Ensure all APRs, including OAAs, are completed accurately and within required timelines.
- Maintain effective filing systems and training records.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings with the Training Team, Management, remote locations, and TSA counterparts.
- Maintain personnel training logs and training compliance records.
- Coordinate make-up training sessions and ensure personnel attendance.
- Track remedial training, return-to-duty training, OJT progress, and certification requirements.
- Track TIP data and covert testing remedial actions and follow-up requirements.
- Identify training gaps, operational misunderstandings, and areas of confusion on the screening floor and implement corrective training actions.
- Maintain communication with all levels of leadership and frontline personnel to ensure training objectives are understood and effectively executed.
- Track and monitor training compliance metrics and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Update and maintain the TSA Online Learning Center (OLC) for all employees.
What You Will Need
- Be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
- Able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Have a High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED).
- Ability to work any day, Monday – Sunday, and any shift between 12:00 AM and 11:59 PM.
- Ability to work independently and possess effective decision-making skills.
- Must have the ability to obtain dual-function certification.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Constant standing, lifting, twisting and bending.
Compensation And Benefits
The anticipated annual salary range the Employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is $100k-$120k. We offer:
