Call Details
The Education The Science Foundation Ireland Discover Programme Call supports and develops the STEM education and public engagement sector in Ireland.
Purpose
The purpose of the Call is to support projects that encourage people of all ages and from all walks of life to be informed, inspired, and involved in STEM. Projects must clearly outline how they will address Science Foundation Ireland's goal to have an engaged and scientifically informed public in Ireland.
Application Process
- Initial Expression of Interest Form: Complete to address project nature, co-funding availability, strategic objectives, and potential impact. Include a CV detailing a track record in the project area.
- Review by Science Foundation Ireland Education & Public Engagement Team: May request meetings to discuss proposals further.
- Full Proposal Submission: Invited applicants complete the Discover Programme Opportunistic Funding Application Form and provide evidence of strategic importance and impact.
Eligibility
The Call is open to a wide range of individuals and organizations, including science communicators, STEM festival organizers, science centers, museums, artists, educators, STEM professionals, arts agencies, production companies, schools, local authorities, universities, colleges, youth clubs, community groups, and research institutes. Partnership projects between different types of organizations are encouraged. Proposals must be explicitly aimed at engaging audiences in the Republic of Ireland, though the subject matter can be international. Applications from organizations not based in the Republic of Ireland are accepted but must show how the project will engage their target audience in Ireland.
Application Procedure
- Applications must be submitted through an organization, such as an academic institution, charitable body, not-for-profit organization, or commercial company.
- Provide the required background and financial information as requested in the application form.
