Responsibilities

• Maintain safety on the bus by monitoring all passengers.
• Absorb students as they enter and exit the bus.
• Perform safety checks on the bus to ensure student safety.
• Be aware of the welfare of passengers during transit.
• Inspect the bus for sleeping children.
• Direct the vehicle safely in backing maneuvers.
• Conduct emergency evacuations from the bus.
• Open and close service doors and move up and down steps.
• Communicate behavior issues and bus stop conditions to the driver.
• Liaise with parents regarding behavior and bus conditions.
• Maintain cleanliness of the assigned bus.
• Occasionally attend field trips and special events.

Qualifications

• One year of experience working with children or students.
• Completion of a comprehensive training program.
• Pre-employment background checks.
