Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner - Emergency Service

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner will provide timely, non-judgmental, compassionate care to the sexual assault victim. The Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner will perform exams including medical-forensic exams, prophylaxis for pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections, photographic documentation, and referrals for appropriate medical and psychological follow-up, support and participation in legal proceedings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S)

  • Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
  • Completion of SANE training
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – required prior to the end of the orientation period

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S)

  • Certification in SANE-A and SANE-P preferred
