About the Role
Operate sewing machines and knives to ensure materials are sewn correctly. Manage carpet in the J-box, ensuring it runs straight and enters the accumulator in the proper position. Monitor for torn leaders or seams and resew them to prevent tear-outs. Inspect carpet as it rolls into the machine and alert supervisors of any defects. Maintain the J-box and accumulator at full capacity at all times.
Responsibilities
- Operate sewing machine and knife to ensure correct sewing of materials.
- Run carpet in J-box, ensuring it remains straight.
- Monitor J-box to ensure carpet enters the accumulator properly.
- Watch for torn leader or seams and resew them to prevent tear-outs.
- Inspect carpet as it rolls into the machine and alert supervisor of defects.
- Keep J-box and accumulator as full as possible at all times.
- Attend job-related training as required by supervision.
- Follow all established standard operating procedures.
- Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary.
- Perform other tasks assigned by management.
