Doff Operator Glasgow VA 3rd Shift

Responsibilities

• Visually and physically inspects carpet coming from the dryer for defects in dyeing, drying, and misc.
• Records all production information (grade code, time, production yardage, print, remarks as to any defects) on appropriate production form with pen or pencil.
• Makes some decisions as to whether carpet needs re-drying. If condition is obvious, Doffer/Inspector makes decision. If condition is questionable, Crew leader is called by telephone to make decision.
• Inputs into computer all necessary Department information.
• Reads and physically resets the production meter at the end of each roll.
• Measures carpet width.
• Doffs rolls of carpet.
• Cuts samples off rolls.
• Attends any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision.
• Performs general housekeeping duties as necessary.
• Performs other tasks assigned by management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a similar position preferred.
• Ability to read and understand production forms and computer systems.
• Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the job, including lifting and moving heavy objects.

Pay

• $18.00 - $22.00 per hour based on experience.
